Freedom of Information Requests
BCLC endeavours to be open and transparent by making a number of records publicly available.
Additionally, we publish Freedom of Information (FOI) Request Responses on our reports and disclosures page. Note: Requests made by individuals for their personal information are not included.
If you’re seeking access to records that BCLC has in its custody or under its control, you can make a request under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), British Columbia. You'll need to make an FOI request only if the information you're looking for isn't routinely available.

Fees
FIPPA allows public bodies to charge fees for certain services. The first three hours spent locating and retrieving a record are free. Fees may apply for any additional time. If fees apply, you'll be given a fee estimate before this work begins.
Receiving the information you requested
In most cases, you'll receive the record(s) you requested. However, some records may have content that isn’t disclosed. If so, reasons for this will be provided to you.
These exceptions to disclosure are listed in FIPPA in Sections 12-22.
The Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner provides independent oversight and enforcement of B.C.'s access and privacy laws.
