Juliet Ligason’s dream of world travel is that much closer to reality, after winning the $500,000 Extra prize from April 9, 2024 Lotto Max draw.
“I was at Superstore in Metrotown and I was not wearing my reading glasses,” recalled Ligason. “I thought it was only $5 – enough for a coffee. When the retailer told me I won, I asked ‘Are you sure?’”
The Vancouver resident was excited to share the news with her family. “I told my grandchildren, but they did not understand. The oldest is only six!”
Ligason plans to celebrate with her family over a nice dinner and is taking time to decide what’s next but looks forward to traveling.

“I am very happy, appreciative and thankful. This is a blessing in my life.”
Ligason purchased the winning ticket at London Drugs on Victoria Drive and 41st Avenue in Vancouver.
